Class out lines
Over a ten week period I will show you different ways of rendering portraits and everything else. It sounds daunting yet with a few simple steps and techniques you will be able to draw what you see. But not just drawing, we will be looking at painting as well, water colors and acrylics used in portraits. All for just $25
Week one; June 6; Welcome
Getting to know the class and going over the materials used
- get to know your fellow students and me as well as your materials.
- Discuss the reference pictures you want to use.
Week 2 June 13; From reference to sketch.
Picking a good reference picture for the portrait and starting the sketch.
- we will be going over the right and wrong reference photo’s that are out there
as well as tips to make a bad one in a good one.
Week 3 June 20; All things come in 3
Finishing the portrait sketch and shading it in.
- we will go over the final parts of the sketch part and how to add
the first shadings.
Week 4 June 27; The finished face
Finishing the portrait
- at this point we will be adding highlights, deep shadows
and finish the portrait using a fixative.
Week 5 July 4; Nature’s glory
Landscape drawing
From reference to sketch
-we will start a landscape drawing, looking into creating light
Falls and shadow plays.
Week 6 July 11; Finished beauty
Finishing the landscape
-wrapping the landscape drawing up by using erasures.
Week 7 July 18; our best friends
Pet portrait sketch
- after picking the best reference picture we will
start sketching the pet.
Week 8 July 25; the classic ways
Painting a portrait start
Sketch first few layers
-using acrylics we will create a great looking color portrait.
We will learn values and hues and tones.
Week 9 august 1; For eternity captured
Finishing the portrait painting
-finishing the portrait by adding highlights and shadows.
Week 10 august 8; At the end..
Wrap up, and re-cap
- going over all the things we have learned.
Every class will be accompanied by a PDF and a video as well as the recorded class on u-stream. When ever you feel you need to, you can e-mail me and we can set up a one on one session to help you out.
